This meme has also been called “So Are You Like Gay or Something?” However, it references a meme that entered mainstream circulation in 2022. Between May and June, online readers began rapidly posting updated versions. Typically, they would update the comic's flag, picking a recent one with each upload.
After its initial launch and positive reception, fans began modifying the imaginative comic. By June 2nd, Riker's Beard posted an updated version, including a Star Trek flag. Afterward, Reddit user GallowJr uploaded one to /r/jerma985 regarding Jerma's Dollhouse Stream. This gained over 2,700 uploads in less than 24 hours.
Origin
Although the unique cartoonist deleted their upload, anyone can find it on Reddit. After finishing its upload on /r/dankmemes, the cartoon received over 29,000 upvotes in three days. @sarahmhops is the cartoon's initial creator, but it has been removed from her accounts.

Flags have always been an integral part of the LGBTIQ+ movement. They are a visible advocacy meant to mark progress, advocate for representation, and exaggerate the demand and drive for collective action. There include been many LGBTIQ+ flags over the years. Some contain evolved, while others are constantly entity conceptualized and created.
Rainbow Flag
Created in 1978 by Gilbert Baker, the iconic Lgbtq+ fest Rainbow flag originally had eight stripes. The colors included pink to portray sexuality, red for healing, yellow for sun, green for serenity with essence, turquoise for art, indigo for peace, and violet for spirit. In the years since, the flag now has six colors. It no longer has a pink stripe, and the turquoise and indigo stripes were replaced with royal blue.
Progress Celebration Flag
Created in 2018 by nonbinary artist Daniel Quasar, the Progress Self-acceptance flag is based on the iconic 1978 rainbow flag. With stripes of black and brown to represent marginalized LGBTIQ+ people of color and the triad of azure, pink, and light from the transsexual flag, the style represents diversity and inclusion.
