Being gay might just save Andy Cohen’s career

Sasha Colby didn’t set out to become “your favorite drag queen’s favorite drag queen.” It just kind of happened.

“You know, I was so stoned,” she admitted with a laugh, recalling the filming of her “Meet the Queens” promo. “We were about to sit down for the interview, and they were enjoy, ‘Oh, just believe of something, love a catchphrase you want to say.’” What came out was a now-iconic phrase that captured the truth: Colby is the queen’s queen, beloved by legends, adored by fans, and deeply respected in her craft. “It came out of the deep crevices in here,” she said, pointing to her head.

She thinks RuPaul might have planted the seed: “Ru had said on the main stage once, ‘You’re a drag queen’s kingly queen — you’re what drag queens watch.’ And maybe that stuck in my head and just kind of … word association.”

I'm Coming Out

Series 2 is here!!! Thanks to everyone for all your back and lovely messages for the first series. I have lots of modern episodes coming in the next few weeks with guests such as Panti Bliss and Rory Cowan. But what better way to kick off the new run than with everyone's favourite no-nonsense, tough-talking TV judge Robert Rinder.

His TV career which followed has been a joyful accident. Robert was writing crime drama scripts as a side hustle, when a fortuitous meeting with an ITV executive, led to him being cast as the judge on the UK version of the hitAmerican series Determine Judy.

Judge Rinder has of course gone on to become a huge clap and often averages 1 million viewers per episode, which for a daytime show is pretty brilliant.

Robert has since appeared on Strictly, Who Do You Think You Are and had his own Friday night chat show on Channel 4.

I met up with Robert a while back and we chatted about; his teenage crushes (all Scandinavian by the way!!!), what it’s love to be gay and Jewish, dealing

“Anytime a mom comes up to me and says, ‘I have a gay son, and we like watching your show together,’ or a male lover person says, ‘I’ve watched you all my life, and it meant something to see that you were OK and happy,’ that means a lot,” he says.
